Rizieri Azienda Agricola
Diano d'Alba, CN
Rizieri, located in Diano d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, is an estate that covers 14 hectares, 7.5 of which are dedicated to viticulture. Their vineyards, planted between 1966 and 2006 in the communes of Diano d'Alba and La Morra, include native varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis, as well as a small area planted to Merlot. Thanks to the calcareous-clay soil and favorable microclimate, exposed mainly to the south and surrounded by woods, the grapes ripen in optimal conditions.
Fermentations, carefully managed in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, take place over a medium to long period of time, followed by aging in 20-30 hectoliter Slavonian and French oak barrels that are freshly toasted and do not overpower the wines' flavor. This attention to the winemaking process allows each wine to express itself fully, whether it is vinified exclusively in steel or stays in wood. Bottling is done using minimal levels of sulfites and without filtration, thus preserving intact the aroma, color and taste of their fine wines.
