La Scolca
Gavi, AL
The history of the La Scolca estate dates back to 1919, when Giorgio Soldati's great-grandfather purchased the plot of land that once housed a lookout post called "Sfurca," which means "Looking Away." Today, the estate is led by the fourth generation represented by Chiara Soldati, who embodies a forward-looking vision without forgetting the family's roots and tradition. The estate is renowned for the production of high quality wines, particularly Gavi Dei Gavi, which is the ultimate expression of the Cortese grape variety grown in the beautiful locations of Rovereto.
La Scolca is not only the oldest winery in the area because of family continuity, but also the most modern, thanks to the innovative leadership of Giorgio Soldati. Under his leadership, the winery has maintained its loyalty to the land of Gavi and the Cortese grape variety, creating successful wines and sparkling wines that stand out for their quality and refinement. The philosophy of the highest quality guides every stage of production, from vineyard care to winemaking practices, ensuring that La Scolca wines have a reputation for excellence that extends beyond the region's borders.
