Enoteca degli Infernot
Cella Monte, AL
The Enoteca degli Infernot is a jewel in the heart of Piedmont, born from the vision of Paolo Ottone of the Torre Veglio winery in Terruggia and Mario Arditi, winemaker and producer of the Cinque Quinti winery in Cella Monte. This project combines a passion for wine and the enhancement of the territory, offering a showcase of the nine Monferrato municipalities known for the presence of Infernot, ancient underground chambers dug by hand into the Pietra da Cantoni, a geological formation unique to the Lower Monferrato.
Located in the hills of Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014, the Enoteca degli Infernot is located in a room recovered and brought back to light by the municipality of Cella Monte, which once served as the village's grocery store. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the history and beauty of the Infernot, part of an evocative itinerary called "Il Monferrato degli Infernot," which offers a unique experience to discover the fascinating underground cellars and taste the fine local wines.
