Welcome to this extraordinary experience to discover the gastronomic tradition of the Veneto region!
The Consorzio di Tutela del Prosciutto Veneto Berico-Euganeo, founded in 1971 in Montagnana, aims to preserve the authenticity and quality of this cured meat, which has its roots as far back as the 15th century. Mentioned even in Michele Savonarola's "Libreto de tute le cosse che se manzano," this ham is synonymous with elegance, vivacity and full flavor.
Today, protected by the European Union's Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Prosciutto Veneto Berico-Euganeo is carefully produced in 15 municipalities between the Berici and Euganean Hills, with Montagnana as the epicenter and headquarters of the Consortium. Its curing process, which can last up to 19-20 months, gives the ham its unmistakable fragrance, pinkish color and sweetness.
During a visit to a workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the ancient production techniques that make this ham so unique. Finally, you will delight in a zero-kilometer tasting, directly savoring the fruit of this artisanal labor.
Next, we will move to the center of Montagnana, where you will be greeted by the 14th-century city walls and medieval views. Through a guided tour, you will explore the glimpses of the historic center, culminating with a visit to the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, enriched by frescoes attributed to Giorgione.
An experience that will transport you back in time, immersing you in the history, art and authentic flavors of Veneto's gastronomic tradition.
