Podere Gagliassi
A historic winery in Monforte d'Alba, Podere Gagliassi was taken over in 2015 by Nino Aragno and Marco Scanavino. In 2016, Roberto Forno started taking care of the vineyards, and from 2019 he became a full member of the company. Thanks to the alchemy, chemistry and complicity that unites them, his son Eugenio also collaborates with his father in taking direct care of the winemaking and cellar.
From a young age, Roberto cultivated vineyards and together with his brothers ran the family winery in Santo Stefano Belbo for years. Later, he chose to dedicate himself exclusively to the land with love, dedication and passion, still working his vineyard.
In 2016, the total renovation of the estate's vineyards began. On an area of 16 hectares, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Alta Langa (Pinot Nero and Chardonnay) and Dolcetto grapes are produced, which will be increased in 2019. All the vineyards are around the Podere, with the exception of the Badarina vineyard of Nebbiolo da Barolo, which is located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba.
Podere Gagliassi is founded on tradition, culture and love for the land, the basic principles that sustain it. Fundamental is the attention to the techniques used in the work, which are based exclusively on sensitive cultivation, respecting the environment and man. Certification was made official in 2020, but already since 2017 all cultivation is BIO.
