Rizieri Azienda Agricola

Rizieri is located in Diano d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe: an estate covering an area of 14 hectares, 7.5 of which are vineyards.

The estate's vineyards are in the municipalities of Diano d'Alba and La Morra and were planted between 1966 and 2006; they include the most prized native varieties: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis as well as a small exception of Merlot.

Lying on hilly limestone-clay soil, with mainly southern exposure and surrounded by woodland, the vineyards enjoy a special microclimate that, with its cool, temperate influences, favours optimal ripening of the grapes.

The medium-long fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with gentle pumping over: the winery uses wood, but this does not dominate the taste of the wines. This is why mainly freshly toasted 20-30 hectolitre barrels of Slavonian and French oak are used. Whether vinified exclusively in steel or in wood, each wine is given plenty of time to fully express itself. Bottling takes place using minimal levels of sulphites and without filtration to preserve fragrance, colour and taste.
